About Centre County Community Foundation

The Centre County Community Foundation was created in 1981 as a public charity dedicated to meeting changing needs and assisting individuals, families and business throughout Centre County plan and carry out their charitable giving.

What We Do

The Foundation accepts gifts to create permanent endowments and makes distributions from this pool, serving as a leader in the community's philanthropic activities. Funding is directed to not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organizations serving Centre County.

The Foundation provides support for the arts, social and health concerns, education, and the environment. The Foundation tries to target funds toward the community's most pressing needs and projects that will have the greatest impact.

How We Operate

The Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation. All requests for funds are investigated, and funding decisions are made by the Board of Directors. The Directors also set policy and help with fund raising and community relationships. All of these responsibilities are governed by the corporation's bylaws.
