We will do all the paperwork and the procedure can often be completed in just one meeting. It you decide to create a new fund within CCCF, we recommend that you consider the following steps: Discuss your charitable ideas and goals with your family, friends, and financial advisor. Determine how you might best achieve your charitable goals and discuss the size and type of gift that is suited to your resources. Choose the type of fund at the Centre County Community Foundation that meets your charitable interests. Discretionary, donor-advised, designated, and field-of-interest funds allow you great flexibility as the kind or organizations and projects your fund will be used to support. Name your fund. A new fund may be created in the donor’s name as an indication of his or her lasting support of a charitable cause, or the fund may be named to create a lasting memorial to a loved one. If you wish, you may also choose to name the fund according to the charitable cause that reflects the fund’s purpose, or you may remain anonymous. A minimum donation of $25,000 is required to initiate a new discretionary, field of interest or designated fund at CCCF. Donors may make an initial contribution of $5,000 to create a “step-up fund” and then add to the fund until the minimum is reached, which will then activate grant-making from the fund. The minimum amount to establish a donor-advised fund is $100,000. The minimum to establish a heritage fund is $10,000.
